Oak cubes simulate oak barrel aging. Add to wine, whiskey, or other products to add aroma and depth of character.
Light toast retains more of the woody flavour of the wood, and can produce coconut and fruit flavours in large amounts. Tannin contribution is high.
Medium toast has less tannin and a stronger bouquet. It has a warm, sweet character with strong vanilla overtones.
Heavy toast brings pronounced caramelized, carbonized and smokey flavours with little to no tannin contribution.
