Pinot Gris is the French translation of Pinot Grigio. It's the same grape grown in different regions, so you can expect some similarities.
Bright citrus flavours, stone fruit character, notes of apple and pear, and crisp acidity make this a wine you'll love.
Pinot Gris is one of the key white varieties in Lodi. The Mediterranean climate sees warm, sunny days allowing for optimal ripening, but the cool winds off the Pacific Ocean travel inland over a network of waterways, acting as a natural air conditioner and creating a cooler climate which helps grapes maintain good acidity. The cooler climate, sunny days, and loamy soils are ideal for Pinot Gris.
Pinot Gris is great on its own, but if you want to pair it right, try it with seared fish or oven-roasted chicken. Young Pinot Gris has more acidity, making it a great choice with dishes that feature white sauces like fettuccine alfredo. Even a simple garden salad with vinaigrette is a great choice for this wine.
