Global Vintners is one of our two wine suppliers. They produce the Winexpert and Vineco wines that so many of our clients enjoy. This year, they are completely revamping their product lines. This means higher quality wines at every price point, improvements on existing products, and lots of new wines to try!

During this transition, some products will be out of stock as we transition to new packaging and formulations.

We are extremely excited for this change, and we know you'll enjoy the new wines. If you're curious, the details are below. Newsletter subscribers will be the first to hear about new product releases.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will the new products be available?

You will begin to see the new packaging on our shelves in March, and new products will slowly filter in from there as they become available. We expect to have 100% of the new offerings by the fall. Subscribe to our newsletter for new product announcements.

Will my favourite wine still be available?

The majority of our wines have an equivalent in the new branding, especially the popular styles. Our team is well-trained and committed to helping you find the perfect wine.

RJS Craft Winemaking products are unaffected by this announcement.

Why are the new boxes smaller? Doesn't that mean lower quality?

Not at all. Improvements in wine quality is actually the primary driver for this change. Here is an explanation from Global Vintners, the manufacturer of Winexpert wine kits:

"We wanted to improve our quality, so we started from the beginning and through advancements in formulations, innovation and technology it allowed us to develop a superior product in a smaller format. The smaller format wine kit has a higher Brix content which results in a more stable product. A more stable product allows for less pasteurization time. This will result in improved colour, aromatics and taste, which will result in better wine."

Our view on this has been consistent for a long time. Full-volume, 23 L wine kits have been available for many years, but most retailers don't sell them because they recognize that the quality of the final product is typically inferior to high-end kits made from a mixture of fresh juices and concentrates. Exceptions exist, but they're not the rule. We're confident that you'll feel the same after trying the new formulations.

In addition, smaller boxes are much more environmentally friendly (less packaging, less fuel required to transport, etc). The carbon footprint associated with your wine will be significantly smaller with no compromise in the final product.
